The Gun Club - "Fire Of Love"
Fire of Love is the debut album by American band The Gun Club, released in 1981. An explosive blend of punk rock, blues, and rockabilly, this album is considered one of the earliest examples of punk blues, a style that fuses the raw energy of punk with the intensity and darkness of the blues.
Driven by Jeffrey Lee Pierce’s feverish vocals, Fire of Love overflows with urgency and passion. Standout tracks include "Sex Beat", "She’s Like Heroin to Me", and "For the Love of Ivy", co-written with Kid Congo Powers. The album also delivers a fiery and electrified take on Robert Johnson’s blues classic "Preaching the Blues".
With its wild and haunted atmosphere, Fire of Love has become a cult album, influencing countless artists in the alternative and garage rock scenes.
