Portes d’Orient is a short, sensory, and evocative work composed of a series of sound vignettes inspired by Arab world music, medieval European traditions, and contemporary avant-garde. It’s a poetic exploration of the connections between cultures and the evocative power of instrumental music.

This work follows in the footsteps of the research led by the Sonorhc collective, with which Jean-François Gaël is associated — always at the crossroads between art music and experimental sound.
