JBL SE 400SE & SG 520E
JBL is one of the world's leading specialists in the design and manufacture of speakers and acoustic systems for both the general public and professionals.
The JBL SG 520E preamplifier and the JBL SE400 SE power amplifier were installed in the famous JBL PARAGON monolithic speaker model.
The JBL SE400 SE amplifier, released in 1963, introduced an innovation with its "T" circuit design featuring a symmetrical power supply. Its output stage consists of a "common collector" connected to the previous stage via a symmetry transformer.
Two years later, in 1965, the JBL SG 520E preamplifier arrived, featuring a futuristic design with a highly professional studio appearance, forming an exceptional pair with the JBL SE400 SE.
With the SG 520E preamplifier, JBL created a commanding device, innovative with its aluminum front panel featuring only linear travel potentiometers for tone, balance, and push-button switches for sources and the on/off function.
The front panel has another unique feature: at the bottom, there is a compartment providing access to additional functions such as a microphone input, anti-rumble filter, a pair of auxiliary inputs, a low-pass filter, a test generator activation switch, a monitoring switch, a stereo recording output, five phono output level adjustments, and a 6.35mm headphone jack.
At the back of the device, two phono inputs, a ground terminal, a MIC input, two aux inputs, and two tuner inputs allow you to connect all your favorite sources.
This unit has its original wooden side panels.
This rare legendary pair, fully restored, will provide you with hours of sonic bliss, a true delight for discerning audiophiles.
