Harman Kardon 730
The Twin Power receivers from Harman/Kardon were unique thanks to their dual independent power supplies (transformers, rectifier bridges, and filter capacitors). This was an uncommon practice in the mid-to-late 1970s, typically found only in high-end integrated amplifiers. The advantages of this design were numerous: double current capacity, increased peak power, improved damping factor, and incredible channel separation.
The Harman Kardon 730 was positioned mid-range between the 630 and the flagship 930. Released in 1978, its design was almost identical to the 430 and 630, featuring an aluminum front panel, a green backlit tuner display, and a casing covered in an original black striped finish.
With 40 watts per channel, it provided more than enough power for most speakers, while its two phono inputs and extended frequency response (4 Hz to 130 kHz) made it a favorite among vinyl enthusiasts.
Among the four models in the series, the 730 became the most sought-after, delivering high performance without burdening users with unnecessary features or extra costs.
