The Elipson 4240 is a true icon of French Hi-Fi. With its unmistakably 70s aesthetic and sound signature, this speaker captivated an entire generation of audiophiles. Built in two separate parts—a bass cabinet housing the woofers and a spherical enclosure placed on top to project mid and high frequencies—it embodies a timeless design.

This particular version features a wooden structure coated with polished and varnished fiberglass, a design language that Elipson still uses in its high-end models today.

This pair has been modified for improved reliability and modern performance. It’s now equipped with a Cabasse DOM2 tweeter and a Visaton B 200 midrange driver. The crossover has been updated accordingly to match these new drivers. The original Audax woofers remain intact.

This speaker requires a large room and a powerful, musical amplifier to fully express its capabilities and deliver its rich, dynamic sound.
