Dee Nasty - "Paname City Rappin'"
Considered the first French rap album, this pioneering record played a crucial role in introducing hip-hop to France.
The album, self-produced and initially pressed in 1,000 copies, was sold directly by Dee Nasty during the 1984 Fête de la Musique. It includes both instrumental tracks and songs with vocal parts, reflecting the influence of American hip-hop that Dee Nasty had discovered during his trips to the United States.
Paname City Rappin’ is now regarded as a unique testament to the early days of hip-hop in France, marking the starting point of a culture that would deeply influence the French music scene.
